SpringTide Villa

SpringTide Villa is a luxurious yet homely four-bedroomed detached house in a quiet cul-de-sac. It is fitted out with quality features, having oak flooring throughout the lounge and bedrooms, oak doors and wooden blinds. All the rooms have recently been newly furnished.

We like to give our guests a taste of local Welsh culture, with examples of local art and crafts throughout the house.

Sleeping accommodation

SpringTide Villa sleeps up to 8 people (plus infant under 24 months old).

The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite bathroom, including a spacious shower, a wash basin and toilet. There is a large built-in wardrobe with plenty of hanging space and shelves, and ample room for storing your suitcases.

The front bedrooms have a view across the Towy Estuary towards Llanstephan Castle, which is picturesque whether in sunshine or shrouded in sea mist. There is a twin room, with two single beds with memory-foam mattresses for extra comfort, and a double room with a double bed. The fourth bedroom has a double bed.

The main bathroom is stylish, including a raised roll-top bath, a separate shower cubicle a wash basin and a toilet. Here, you can store your toiletries in the cabinet above the sink. An additional toilet can be found in the downstairs cloakroom.

Babies and children

We welcome babies and well-behaved children!

A travel cot is available for infants under 24 months and this can be put into any of the bedrooms as required. We understand how difficult it can be travelling with small children and all their equipment, so we provide a changing station (including baby bath) and high chair so you don't have to bring yours with you.

We also have a baby swing and a selection of toys for various age-groups - let us know the age of your child or children and we'll make sure there are toys or games for them. So they won't get bored if you're grounded by inclement weather!

Relaxing indoors

Downstairs, the lounge has a flat-screen Freeview TV (with ports for Xboxes, playstations etc. - bring your own cables!) and a DVD player. We provide a selection of DVDs for your use, and can tailor this selection to your age-group and interests.

There are two luxurious sofas and a large easy chair in the main lounge, and a table and chairs in the sunroom for those who want to relax or read away from the television. The bookcase is filled with an eclectic range of reading material, including local-interest books. Games and puzzles are found in the TV cabinet.

A radio with 5-CD interchanger and double tape deck is provided in the kitchen, with a selection of CDs. Again, we can tailor these to your age-group and interests.

Cooking and eating

The kitchen area is exceptionally spacious, with plenty of room to store and prepare food. The kitchen is equipped with a fan oven with ceramic hob, a microwave oven with grill, a fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. In addition to the usual kettle and toaster, we have included a steamer, breadmaker and hand blender.

The open-plan layout of the kitchen-diner means that serving meals to the dining table is quick and easy. The breakfast bar is a handy place to hop on a stool and grab a snack. And on those glorious sunset days, why not eat outside on the patio using the picnicware provided? In fact, you may as well use the barbeque and make an evening of it!

Parking and storage of bicycles and sports equipment

There is ample space for two cars to be parked on the driveway and one on the road.

The integral garage is available for the storage of bicycles and sports gear. There is an outside tap for rinsing off sandy or muddy equipment.

Laundry

We have a washing machine in the integral garage, accessible via the kitchen. An airer, rotary washing line and pegs are also provided. Recognising that dirty clothes can mount up and become messy, we have put two collapsible laundry bags in the airing cupboard for your use.

Relaxing outdoors

Guests can enjoy the Welsh weather by relaxing in the garden. There is a patio with table, chairs and parasol and a barbecue for those sunny evenings. On the lawn there is a rocker seat and a shaded swing seat. Sitting out here at nighttime, you can hear the curlews calling in the estuary.

The back garden is safely enclosed, with the two side passages closed off by gates and high fencing all around. Access from the house is via the back door in the kitchen or via the sunroom.

Telecommunications

SpringTide Villa does not have a landline telephone. Guests should note that mobile phone signals are patchy in Ferryside. The Orange network currently has the best reception at the house. However, if guests have to make urgent or important phone calls and are unable to get a mobile signal, they are welcome to use our telephone (we live up the road). There is a payphone in the village square.
