Pauline Thomas

Pauline is a professional, Axis-approved abstract artist living in Ferryside. She has a passion for painting and the part of the world that she lives in. She is totally self-taught through 20 years of self-expression in the media of paint, pencil, clay and flora. This has allowed her work to develop outside the confines of convention and produce works of true originality. Pauline produces unique original paintings, limited and open edition prints on fine art paper and canvas to bespoke size requirements.

Pauline works from her studio in Ferryside with uninterrupted views of the estuary and Llansteffan Castle. Her inspiration is drawn from her life in west Wales, her work in the agricultural sector and working within the changing landscape, weather and rhythm of the rural way of life. Other works have been inspired by the folklore and history of the surrounding communities tempered by her personal experiences and emotions.

Pauline’s work can be found in private and public collections throughout the UK, Europe and the USA, and has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in London and throughout the UK, Canada, USA and Australia.

Eynon Hughes

Eynon lives in Laugharne, the famed former home of Dylan Thomas. He creates dramatic landscapes in pastel.

David Cuin

David Cuin is a watercolourist of the traditional, realist school incorporating the soft, atmospheric capabilities of the medium into his work at the same time as maintaining a crisp attention to detail. His training and career as an Architectural Engineer lends structure and form to the depiction of the architectural and man-made subjects that, together with landscapes, form the greater part of his preferred subjects. His technical background does nothing to inhibit his use of the unique qualities of watercolour to depict the dramatic effects of light on his subjects but profoundly informs his comprehensive knowledge of the medium. Paintings of Colorado and the Cotswolds, England, are among his favourite locations, and portraits of buildings are a speciality.

Cuin has also achieved success in the art of fused glass, lending a further dimension to his artistic expression. His appreciation of design, composition and technology has led to a successful line of art glassware currently represented by six Colorado galleries.

Cuin has attended watercolour workshops with top American artists Tom Lynch and Tony Couch and with Australian artists David Taylor and Joseph Zbukvic. Studying also with prominent New Jersey artists Ruth Wilson, Betty Stroppel WPA, Ron Lent, Edwin Havas AWS and Robert Sakson AWS, he has exhibited his award-winning watercolours in New Jersey and Colorado and has work in private collections in the USA and UK.

Cuin is a former Vice President of the Somerset Art Association, NJ, and a Past President and Member of the Evergreen Artists’ Association (EAA), serving on the Board for nine years. He has also served on the Boards of various art organisations including the Arts Council and the Art Center Advisory Board.

For more than a decade, he has taught watercolour classes and workshops for the EAA, the Evergreen Parks & Recreation Department and the Center for the Arts in Evergreen, and also teaches privately. David is a Signature Member of the Colorado Watercolor Society and founded Evergreen’s Open Studio Tour.
